How to Find Local Fertility Monitoring When Your IVF Clinic Is Far Away

If you’re traveling for fertility treatment, one of the biggest logistical headaches can be figuring out where to complete your monitoring.

You may love your fertility clinic, but that doesn’t mean you want to drive or fly back every few days for bloodwork and ultrasounds.

That’s exactly why I created Monitor Match™.

What Is Fertility Monitoring?

During an IVF cycle, FET cycle, ovulation induction cycle, or other fertility treatment, your clinic may ask you to complete monitoring appointments close to home.

These appointments can include:

  • Transvaginal ultrasounds

  • Follicle measurements

  • Endometrial lining measurements

  • Estradiol testing

  • Progesterone testing

  • LH testing

  • Other fertility-related bloodwork

Your fertility clinic then uses those results to decide what comes next in your treatment plan.

The problem?

Finding a local facility that is willing and able to perform outside fertility monitoring can be surprisingly difficult.

Why Finding Monitoring Can Be So Frustrating

Patients are often left calling around on their own.

You may hear:

“We don’t do outside monitoring.”

“We only perform pregnancy ultrasounds.”

“We don’t send same-day results.”

“We need an order first.”

“We can do the ultrasound, but not the bloodwork.”

Or sometimes, nobody seems to know exactly what you are asking for.

When you are already dealing with medications, appointments, travel, finances, and the emotional side of fertility treatment, finding a place to get an ultrasound should not become another full-time job.

That’s Where Monitor Match™ Comes In

Monitor Match™ was created to help fertility patients search for monitoring options across the country.

You can search by location to find facilities that may offer:

  • Fertility monitoring ultrasounds

  • Bloodwork

  • Outside monitoring

  • Same-day results

  • Independent ultrasound services

  • Fertility-friendly monitoring options closer to home

Some facilities are confirmed monitoring providers, while others are clearly marked “Services to Confirm” so you know to contact them before scheduling.

The goal is simple:

Make it easier to find fertility monitoring without spending hours searching the internet and calling random offices.

Who Is Monitor Match™ For?

Monitor Match™ may be especially helpful if you:

  • Travel out of state for IVF

  • Use a fertility clinic that is several hours away

  • Need local monitoring between treatment visits

  • Are doing a fresh IVF cycle or frozen embryo transfer

  • Need bloodwork close to home

  • Are trying to avoid unnecessary travel

  • Need to compare monitoring options in a new city

It can also be helpful if you are planning fertility travel and want to know what monitoring options exist before your cycle begins.

What Should You Ask a Monitoring Facility?

Before scheduling, I recommend confirming a few important things.

Ask whether they can perform:

  • Physician-ordered transvaginal fertility ultrasounds

  • Follicle measurements

  • Endometrial lining measurements

  • Same-day reporting

  • Bloodwork ordered by an outside fertility clinic

  • Same-day lab results, if your clinic requires them

Also ask:

  • Do you need an order before scheduling?

  • Can results be sent directly to my fertility clinic?

  • How quickly are results sent?

  • What is the self-pay price?

  • Do you accept insurance?

Every fertility clinic has different requirements, so always confirm that the facility can provide exactly what your fertility team needs.

A Very Important Note

A facility being listed in Monitor Match™ does not automatically mean every service has been confirmed.

Some locations are specifically labeled Services to Confirm.

That means the facility may offer ultrasound or imaging services, but fertility-monitoring capabilities have not yet been independently confirmed.

Always contact the facility before scheduling and confirm the requirements with your fertility clinic.

Why I Created Monitor Match™

After years of working with fertility patients, I have seen how stressful the logistics of treatment can become.

Patients are already juggling medications, finances, appointments, work schedules, travel, and emotions.

Finding somewhere to get a simple monitoring ultrasound or blood draw should not make treatment harder.

Monitor Match™ is meant to make one piece of the process a little easier.
